I posted my book review for Love, Rosie about a month ago and I was just able to watch the film. Let me get this straight – the whole movie, I didn’t like it very much. I mean, the actors — Lily Collins and Sam Claflin are really good and they had the thing but I was looking for a little bit more spark between the two. Also, the book is still affecting me while watching the movie. I’m like “Didn’t they…”, “Wasn’t she…”, and “No, that was when…” which made the movie not look good to me.
When I watch it on the other side, the side where I pretend I did not read the book and just focus solely on the movie, it was better. Cute actually, but I’m still not getting the movie hangovers. There were a few funny parts but not funny funny. But, the movie still looked dull to me, I didn’t like the movie very much. However, when asked for the part which I liked the most, it was when Alex was comforting Katie of some sort and what he says actually relates to his and Rosie’s relationship, whatever that is.
The book and the movie has the same characteristics I’m looking for — WRONG TIMINGS. Wrong timings because if not, Alex and Rosie would’ve been together sooner. And I liked that I was able to distinguish that because to me, that is the soul of the book where the movie was based. At the end of the movie, although the two were just kissing, didn’t leave me hanging. I am disappointed me though because it would have been better if they were 50 years old.
